Today I am grateful for life and health, for love and basic physical security. I am grateful for food on the table, for beautiful countryside near our home.

Today I am sad about inequality in society and the church, for the loneliness that many feel, for the lack of empathy we allow ourselves.

This year I would like to see greater opportunity given to all, not just some. I would like to see more people know the love of God, not just hear the expectations of others.

This is my prayer for 2016.
